Bishop Earley Dillard, D.D. is the pastor of the Shiloh Way of the Cross Church of Christ, 938 Brookdale Street, Martinsville, Virginia. Dr. Dillard is married to First Lady Janice Dillard. They have a daughter, Tonia Dillard Cannady; married to Elder Eric L. Cannady and two grandchildren, Lincia and Christian Cannady. Bishop Earley Dillard served four years in the United States Air force. Bishop Dillard became a member of the Shiloh Way of the Cross Church of Christ at the age of seven. He was baptized in the Leatherwood Creek near Carlisle, by the founder and Pastor, Bishop H.C. Eggleston, and was filled with the Holy Ghost Shortly afterwards. Bishop Dillard was called into the ministry in 1970 under the leadership of the late Bishop H.C. Eggleston. He also studied at the Virginia Seminary, Lynchburg, Virginia. His first public sermon was “Prayer Is The Answer”. In 1984, after the death of Bishop Eggleston, he became the Pastor of the Shiloh Way of the Cross Church of Christ. He was formally consecrated Pastor of Shiloh Way of the Cross Church of Christ on June 8, 1985. Bishop Dillard was promoted to the office of Bishop with the Way of the Cross Church of Christ International in August 1996 in Largo, Maryland. After becoming Bishop, he was given collateral duties placing him the State Bishop of Alaska where he visit once or twice a year. Bishop Dillard is currently serving the Way of the Cross Organization on the Executive Board of Bishops, Chairman of the Pastoral Council, Trustee Board Member, Auxiliary Bishop of the National Youth for Christ Department, Virginia Diocese Bishop, Bishop over the Way of the Cross churches in Africa and the United Kingdom. Bishop Dillard has served as Secretary of the National Board of Trustees, and Vice Chairman of the Pastoral Council. He served as President of the National Youth For Christ and served as the state Bishop of Alaska. Bishop Dillard received his Doctorate of Divinity on December 27, 2006 from the School of Bible Theology Seminary and University, Riverside, California. Bishop Dillard has been an inspiration in many others coming to Shiloh Way of the Cross Church and also to the Way of the Cross Church organization. The greatest blessing during his ministry and teachings has been the spiritual growth of the church.
